Free Summer Fun

REG’s Free Family Film Festival is Now Showing!
When school’s out, kids around the country visit selected Regal theatres for the Free Family Film Festival. It’s a fun-filled nine weeks of movies for kids and parents. Since 1991, Regal has provided this service to the community, and best of all it’s FREE!
Selected G & PG movies start at 10AM each Tuesday and Wednesday during the festival. First-come, first-served seating is limited to theatre capacity. The Free Family Film Festival is safe, lots of fun and a great way for kids to spend a weekday morning in the summer.

Tickets for our 2009 Free Family Film Festival are exclusively available at select theatres’ box office on the day of the show.

Recipe for an Army Wife

Recipe for an Army Wife


1 1/2 cups patience
1 lb. adaptability
3/4 cup tolerance
1 tsp. courage
Dash of adventure
Combine the above ingredients.
Add 2 tablespoons of elbow grease.
Marinate frequently with salty tears.
Pour off excess fat.
Sprinkle lightly with money.
Season the mixture with international spices.
"Knead" dough until payday.
Bake 20 years or until done.

You know you're a military wife or girlfriend when......

You know you are a Military Girlfriend/Wife when..

1. You don't mind a phone call waking you up at 4 a.m.
2. You tell people that ask that he's 'only' been gone a month.
3. The smallest contact (short email or 2 minute phone call) from your man makes your entire week!
4. You cry over an email that says nothing more than hey- I love you and I miss you.
5. Those recruitment commercials on TV make you cry because you are so proud!
6. You sleep in PT attire, cuddled up in a poncho liner, because it's the closest you can come to being with your military man. (hah)
7. You're sitting at home and you realize that you haven't talked to your boyfriend/hubby (on the phone) in over a month.
8. You become heartbroken just knowing that your boyfriend/hubby tried to call but wasn't able to get through.
9. You know your a military girlfriend/wife when your favorite 'man' to see everyday is the MAILMAN (what a love/hate relationship that is).
10. You stop shaving above the knees. (or shaving at all.. lol)
11. A 30 second phone call after no calls from him for 3 months leaves you full of joy and happiness.
12. "No news is good news" becomes your motto.
13. You could wait forever for your loved one to return home into your arms.
14. You feel yourself growning more and more in love with your military man even while he's so far away.
15. Planning letters/care packages and putting them in the mail is more exciting then going out for a night on the town with the girls.
16. You hold off on seeing certain movies so you can see them with your military man when he comes home.
17. YOU WANT TO ROLL YOUR EYES WHEN YOU HEAR SOMEONE SAY, "I haven't seen my boyfriend/girlfriend or hubby/wife in a week!". (AMEN!!!)
18. You can go from being happy, to sad, to lonely, to angry, to proud, and back to happy in a matter of less than an hour.
19. You sleep with the phone right next to you, just in case.
20. If he's deployed you don't care how your hair looks nor care about wearing make-up, and the people at your work ask about your boyfriend/hubby every day to see if you've heard from him.
21. The sight of any other man in a uniform makes you miss your boyfriend/hubby MORE than it makes you drool.
22. You feel lucky for each second granted to the two of you.
23. You are 3000 miles apart and you dont notice the time difference and talk until 5 am his time 2 am your time on a school night.
24. Phone kisses are just as good as the real ones if not better.
25. You realize you can forgive your boyfriend/hubby for not calling you for a few weeks due to the fact he really had to work.
26. Your cell phone shows 87 screens full of the number 2 for "repeat message" after you hear he left you a voice mail because you missed his first and only call so far!
27. Going 3-6 months without seeing your man seems like a drop in the bucket compared to what you have been through before.
28. You haven't heard from them in awhile and you find yourself reading the old letters you have received. It's just something comforting to feel close to him in a way.
29. You don't bat an eyelash when he say's "Uh, Honey they changed when I'm supposed to return home, yet again (for the 18th millionth time)".
30. Everytime you see him it feel's like it's for the first time all over again...EVERYTIME

ABC's of being an Army Wife

A is for attacking the phone everytime it rings. Even if it means sleeping with the handset or nearly careening off the highway trying to reach your phone in your purse on the floor...in case it is your soldier calling.

B is for boxes. Packing them, unpacking them, shipping them, receiving them, using them to store precious letters... An Army Wife handles a lot of boxes.

C is for cheering your head off when your soldier finally comes home from that LOOONNNGGG deployment!!!

D is for deployments, and the deployments that extend.

E is for the Excitement you feel when you know he is coming very soon after being away for a LONGGGGG time!!

F is for the friendships that come and go due to moving every three years, and for those that last a lifetime no matter what the distance.

G is for the Good friends you will meet despite knowing them for a short span of time.

H is for the helpful hands that come when they are needed.

I is for IRAQ, the nastiest 4 letter word we know!

J is for how you JUMP for JOY when homecoming comes.

K is for Kitchen where you prepare gourmet snacks and scrub and scrub, just to keep your mind occupied.

L is the love you have for your soldier.

M is for the marriage that survive the struggles that come with being a Army wife.

N is for Naughty time when "daddy" gets home!
O is for OPSEC- learn it- know it- live by it.......

P is patience! God knows you need it....

Q Is for the Questions you have to deal with every day. "When is he coming home?" "Will he get to come home for Christmas?" "Does he plan on getting out after he comes back?" "Why did he re-enlist?" and....
Q is for spending Quality time with your loved one....taking as much as you can get before they are gone for a week, a month or year.

R is for RnR of course! With all these dang deployments, families LIVE for RnR!

S is for the sacrifice . You will soon learn to live without. Live without your SO home on holidays, birthday, anniversary's, pregnancies, your child's childhood....all for the "Good of the Army".

T is for the time you have with him while he is home.

U is for the UGLY brown briefs we have to see our husbands wear!

V is for the variety of different places you will go!

W IS FOR THE WORRIES.......WHERE IS HE......WHEN IS IT GONNA BE OVER...........

X is for the eXtra hugs and kisses you try to squeeze in right before they get on the plane...

Y is for the yawns caused by all of the late night phone calls or IM sessions, the long days, the sleepless nights and the hot nights spent with your man when neither of you gets any sleep.

Z is for the time ZONES that we have to count to figure out what time is it where ever they are deployed or stationed at while they are away.
